This congregation was established as a mission church of the American Lutheran Church. Rev. Donald Kruse, who is the present pastor, arrived in Boring (east of Portland) February 1, 1976, and first services were held April 11 in the Hollyview Baptist Church, where the congregation worshipped until December 11, 1977.
